The main event dedicated to World AIDS Day took place on December 1st, 2020 in Dushanbe, in the conference hall of the National AIDS Center. The theme of World AIDS Day for 2020 is Global solidarity, shared responsibility.

The main purpose of the event was to support and stimulate the population of Tajikistan to discuss the issues related to HIV and AIDS, disseminate the information about the causes and consequences of the spread of HIV infection, and build a conscious attitude of the community to their health.

The participants of the event noted that HIV can be prevented. To do this, people must have the accurate information about the ways of transmission of HIV and the ways to prevent this infection. Civil society, represented by communities, plays an important role in raising awareness of the public on HIV and AIDS  issues.
