UNFPA plays a leading role in promoting healthy lifestyles and safer sex practices for young people by increasing their access to sexual and reproductive health information and services. Key areas include peer education programs, the introduction of a health education program in secondary schools, and the provision of adolescents' access to youth-friendly health services. The component also envisages strengthening the capacity of youth networks and platforms to promote youth programs and the interests of young people and adolescents. Involving young people as partners in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs is the main principle of the organization in the implementation of sub-programs.
• HIV Preventions Project:
UNFPA HIV prevention activities are included in all components of the Country Program Document. As one of ten sponsors of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV / AIDS (UNAIDS), UNFPA is committed to preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS through a variety of strategies. As part of the UNAIDS mission, UNFPA is leading in promoting contraception and prevention of sexually transmitted disease (STD) among young people and women who are at high risk of infection. Other key groups of population are also actively involved. UNFPA pays great attention to the rights of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and makes every effort to ensure that they have access to SRH services that meet their needs.
