Workshop on ICPD30: Policymaking initiatives to address gender-based violence in Central Asia took place in Dushanbe on 19 September 2023. The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development Association (AFPPD) and the Parliament of Tajikistan organized the event with the financial support of UNFPA and the Japan Trust Fund. The event brought together members of the parliament from Tajikistan, representatives of UNFPA and the Secretariat of AFPPD, representatives of member states, civil society and experts. The participants discussed policymaking initiatives and the use of evidence to address gender-based violence in Central Asia. The event aimed at strengthening the role of members of parliaments in Central Asia sub-region and building their capacity in “Demographic Intelligence” utilisation for policy purposes to address youth development and gender issues.
