The Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the United Nations Population Fund Regional Office for the Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the UNFPA Country Office in Tajikistan will conduct 10-day regional training.

Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Office for the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) and the UNFPA Country Office in Tajikistan will conduct 10-day regional training on the use of mobile devices for data collection using CSPro software package on Android. The event will be organized from June 17-27, 2019 in the Agency premises.

CSPro (Census and Survey Processing System) is a public domain software package used for entering, editing, tabulating and disseminating census and survey data. National statistical agencies can benefit from adopting the mobile data collection application and replicate the success of other countries in collecting census and / or survey data.

The training will be conducted with direct financial support of the United Nations Population Fund and substantial technical support from the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This training is planned as part of the preparation of the EECA region countries for the upcoming census round in the period 2019-2022. Along with ten employees of the Agency on Statistics, experts from relevant statistical bodies from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will attend the training.

The knowledge gained by the relevant specialists will be used for the upcoming census round in their respective countries and future surveys using mobile devices. At the end of the training participants will be awarded certificates on completing the relevant course.
