Effective Perinatal Care (EPC) based on the most recent evidences and recommendations in this field

WHO jointly with UNFPA in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan are training the National Trainers (TOT) out of leading obstetrician/gynecologists, neonatologists and midwives on Effective Perinatal Care (EPC) based on the most recent evidences and recommendations in this field. The eleven days training includes EPC basics, and practical work at the National Research Centre for Perinatology, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Neonatology. A large part of the given training is dedicated to the preparation of EPC experts who will further be involved in spreading new technologies on effective perinatal care across the country. Over thirty-seven (37) training participants represent national and regional levels of maternal and newborn care – National and Regional Perinatal Care Centers, Post-diploma departments of the Tajik State Medical University and Tajik State Medical College. A group of OB/GYNs, midwives, and neonatologists from the Institute of Kulakov of the Russian Federation also take part in this training to be certified as EPC Trainers.

This event is funded jointly by WHO within Improvement of maternal and newborn quality of care and UNFPA/IsDB joint project “Improving maternal, neonatal and child health services in four districts of the Khatlon region of the republic of Tajikistan”
