DUSHANBE, TAJIKISTAN – August 13, 2018

 

August 13, in Dushanbe was held a round table within the framework of project “Development of a healthy lifestyle and sexual and reproductive health among adolescents”, is implementing in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and with the support of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Tajikistan. The purpose of this meeting is to contribute to the development of HLS and SRH among adolescents and young people in cooperation with state, international and public organizations through innovative ways of addressing preventive measures to reduce the growth of HIV and STIs (sexually transmitted infections) in the country.

 

At the same time was discussed the issue of setting up a working group for introduction of changes and additions to the existing handbook on a healthy lifestyle for teachers of secondary schools which has been piloted since 2016 in secondary schools across the country (Sughd and Khatlon regions, as well as in Dushanbe city). The handbook on a healthy lifestyle has been developed and reproduced with the financial support of UNFPA Tajikistan, the United Nations Population Fund.

 

There was discussed also the issue of bilateral cooperation between UNFPA Tajikistan and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan in  form of signing a memorandum in the field of healthy lifestyle for adolescents and young people for the coming years.

 

The working meeting was held in the Serena Hotel with the participation of employees and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the representative of the Republican Institute for advanced training under the ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Director of the Republican Center for Development and Talents and the Vice President of the Academy of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was organized by the NGO “Hamsol ba hamsol” and by the end of which the Organization presented its activities and about the project “Development of HLS and SRH among adolescents”.
