DUSHANBE, TAJIKISTAN – August 27, 2018

Today, August 27, the training on development the “Communication strategy and work plan to increase legal education of population on timely civil registration acts” will begin.

 

The event will be held in the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan training center “Shokhin” in Guliston city, Sughd region from August 27 to September 1, 2018. The training is organized within the framework of the UNDP project “Support to Civil Registration Reform System in Tajikistan”.

It is envisaged that in the frame of the training the communication strategy on civil registration services and relevant communication action plan on advocacy and promotion legal education of population on timely civil registration acts for 2018-2019 will be developed.

 

According to the developed Action plan conduction of communication campaign on Civil registration services is foreseen to cover vulnerable groups of the population in remotest districts, Jamoats and makhallyas to put in practice one of the SDG’s slogan “No one left behind”.

©Photo: PO “Gender and Development”Also the role of mass media to raise the awareness level of population on civil registration services will be discussed during the training.

 

Following issues will be presented and discussed during the training: “Civil registration effective system as a tool for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)”; Findings of the research conducted by PO “Gender in Development” on the two topics: 1) Assessment of awareness level and use of civil registration services by population in 4 pilot districts/cities: Bokhtar and Dushanbe, Bobojon Gafurov and Rudaki districts and 2) Situation analysis and assessment of the Ministry of Justice of  RT staff capacity to disseminate information among wide population on civil registration procedures and requirements, importance of in time application for receiving civil registration documents.

 

The event is organized by the PO “Gender and Development” in the frame of UNDP project “Support to Civil Registration Reform System in Tajikistan” being implemented under financial support of Swiss Development Cooperation Office in Tajikistan and in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, UNDP, UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund and entity UN Women.
